HEARING DIFFICULTIES - HEARING LOSS - SPEECH UNDERSTANDING

_____________________________________________________________________________

Did you know that about 10% of people suffer from any kind of hearing loss, which affects their life quality? Do you know that about 50% of people are affected in some way by this hearing loss, because it is difficult or impossible, sometimes, to talk to a relative, friend, colleague, or acquaintance, who is suffering from a hearing loss?

Nowadays, this should not happen anymore, because many modern auditory systems are available for patients with a hearing loss of any kind. Technology advances have been enormous, they provide a solution for most patients, bringing them back their joy and quality of life.

Signals of a hearing loss.

Most of the times, this loss is slow and progressive. Every year, someone with a hearing loss experiences a bigger difficulty to understand a conversation, or a bigger need to increase TV and radio volume, to be able to understand everything. When volume is increased, there is usually a sound distortion, so that we hear it louder but we don’t understand any way.

At the same time, when we lose our sharp hearing, we start to speak louder, and our relatives or listeners complain that we are screaming. Many people even get their voices permanently affected, because they speak loud all the time, thinking that they are doing it low.

Hearing losses may be accompanied by buzzes (tinitus) at the ear. These are uncomfortable and one of the first signals of a hearing loss. Other symptoms are: Loss of balance, vertigo, sea sickness, a clogged ear sensation, intolerance to loud sounds or noises. Any one with one or more of these symptoms must visit an otorhinolaryngologist and/or audiologist at once, to establish the causes of his hearing loss, rule out or not the existence of a medical problem, measure the intensity of the loss, and evaluate all possibilities to improve his hearing by using audiphones to amplify sound.

A better communication.

Digital amplifying and computer based technology are revolutionary. But the real value of it is clearly appreciated by the patient, when he reaches his ultimate goal: A much better hearing, understanding, and communication. These improved conditions yield benefits permanently: A better social activity and integration, a bigger confidence and ease in difficult auditory situations (phone talks, noisy environments, for instance), a bigger productivity at work, ability to understand and appreciate better voices and sounds of the environment..

State of the Art digital technology guarantees an exceptional sound quality. Speech understanding becomes optimal at any level of difficulty, at any auditory condition. Self-confidence increases, because patients feel at ease in any activity or place. So, there is no reason to not getting these modern auditory micro-computers nor to wait 10 or 20 years, doing it when you are old.

Better hearing means better living. Modern digital audiphones are a major key to get a better life quality and remain active.
